About the Teacher

Hello, and welcome to kindergarten. I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year and thrilled to be at Sommer Elementary. This is my second year at Sommer, but it will be my 15th year of teaching. I taught kindergarten and first grade both in Austin and Pflugerville.

I grew up in Indiana and moved to Texas when I was 16. I met my husband when I was 17. We celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary this week. It's hard to believe we have been married that long. We have two beautiful daughters and one handsome grandson.

I am a graduate of the University of Texas and am a huge Longhorn fan. I especially enjoy watching Longhorn football. In my spare time, you can find me doing outreach with our church, working out, or going to the movies.

I look forward to a wonderful year with your child and can't wait to watch them grow and learn. Kindergarten is such a magical time and I'm glad I can be a part of that time with your family.
