Week 14

This week, we started working our our family PBL. This stands for project based learning. As a teacher, I am simply there to facilitate discussions and let the children share with each other to learn. Here are a few of the books we read about families.

On Monday, we had 5 presenters share with the class about the following holidays: Christmas, Diwali, Korean New Year, Purisma and Hannukah. It was a great way to begin our PBL unit.

As a class, we made a list of holidays we celebrate.

Our table groups worked on graphing this information.

We also graphed members of our family and clothing that we wear. We talked about how we are alike and different.

We had fun wearing traditional clothing.

We clothed our paper dolls to represent what we were wearing.

We presented our family trees to the class.

We also celebrated Tarun's birthday.

These are just a few of the activities that we did this week. We will continue our PBL unit next week and we hope that you will join us on Friday for our family presentations.
